Yogi Bear Anderson/Truett
March 22, 2020 – March 7, 2024
Cayce House of Cats mourns the sudden loss of Yogi Bear to a presumed heart attack on March 7, 2024. He was close to 4 years old.
Yogi was preceded in death by his mother, Black & White Mama of the Suggs and Kelly feral colony. He leaves behind his sister, BooBoo Bear (of the home), a brother, Chewy (adopted by Chad Henderson and Bonnie Boiter-Jolley), a sister, Misifus (adopted by Luis Marica), 2 additional sisters, Adalyn Austin and Evalyn Jane (adopted by Sharon and Ivan Baughman) and the remaining residents of Cayce House of Cats (CHOC).
Yogi was one of six “miracle” kittens rescued (in utero) from the Suggs and Kelly (S&K) feral colony on March 21, 2020. He was born at CHOC the next day – 2 days before the feral colony property was destroyed for re-development.
He was a handsome fellow – sitting tall and proud with his long grey fur and inquisitive eyes. He and his sister, BooBoo Bear, were named in honor of BearBear - a former CHOC patriarch.
Yogi – we are stunned that you were taken from us so soon. Just the evening before, you were in your favorite spot under the kitchen table happily munching your dinner. We recognize that there is always the possibility that this kind of thing can happen at any time, but it is still very hard to accept. We also know that, as you make your way across the Bridge, you are re-united with your Mama and are welcomed by everyone from CHOC and S&K who have gone before.
Thank you, Yogi, for allowing us to be part of your short life. We love you and miss you, sweet boy…
