Mimic Anderson/Truett
August, 2019 - March 7, 2022
Mimic Anderson/Truett lost her fierce battle with the side effects of chronic stomatitis on March 7, 2022. She was 3 years old. Mimic leaves behind her brother, Little O, plus her many housemates at Cayce House of Cats.
A very precocious Mimic was discovered at the EdVenture Community Cat colony in August of 2019 - three months after her brother, Little O, was rescued from the same colony. Her name stems from the observation that she closely resembled another calico cat at the Colony, Calico Girl. She was certainly a smart kitten - given that she survived at the colony for several weeks before she convinced us she was ready for a forever home. She and Little O were youthful playmates and loved pouncing on and chasing each other around the house. She grew to be a big girl and decided to take her turn as an "alpha female" - much to the consternation of those around her who did not bend to her will. In her last year, she spent time in keen observation of the residents of a nearby aquarium in her living quarters.
She was diagnosed with stomatitis in 2020. Various therapies and dental surgery provided some relief but, in the end, she succumbed to the effects of long-term side effects of corticosteroid usage. She developed large abscesses of unknown origin and failed rapidly. We helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge on March 7, 2022.
Thank you to Doctors Brown and Huse of Sunset Animal Clinic for their continued care and consult and to CVETS for their professionalism and support during the time of Mimic's palliative care.
Mimic - Little O, Papa Stoney, and Mama Valerie love you and miss you. Enjoy your journey across the Bridge. We will see you soon, sweet girlâ¦
