Jacque Anderson/Truett

August, 2011 – January 28, 2023

Jacque Anderson-Truett, a member of “The Gang of Six” (a tiny little division of the City of Cayce House of Cats), was lovingly euthanized on January 28, 2023 after having endured complications from large cell gastrointestinal lymphoma. She was 12 years old.

Jacque leaves behind the remaining 5 “Gangsters” - brothers Blackie, Doolittle, and Lindbergh, and sisters Amelia and Arabella - as well as the remaining members of the CHOC household.

Jacque’s story started before she was born. In the Summer of 2011, we were feeding a pregnant tabby female on our back porch. She gave birth to 6 kittens at a neighbor’s home down the street. A few weeks later, she decided to move the litter to our back porch. During her move, we found two of the kittens under a rose bush in the back yard. One of those kittens was Jacque. She is named after Jacque Cochran - the first female pilot to break the sound barrier.

Jacque and her siblings were thick as thieves - but she especially loved sleeping with her twin Brother, Lindbergh. When they were together, it was mighty hard to tell them apart!

Her absolute favorite activity was stalking the pond fish - with varying degrees of success. When a fresh batch of goldfish arrived, she would be right at the edge of the pond waiting for an unsuspecting victim to swim too close. She would snatch it up, play with it, then place the deceased (and, therefore, uninteresting) fish on the kitchen floor for unshod feet to find later.

A special thank you goes out to Jacque’s medical teams at Sunset Animal Clinic and CVets and especially to her housemates Stan, MacGyver, and the others who kept her warm and comforted during her last few days.

Jacque - Papa Stoney and Mama Valerie love you so very much and will miss you sitting on the countertop devouring your special food (and terrorizing the goldfish!).

Enjoy your journey across the Bridge. We will see you soon, sweet girl…
