Grey Anderson- Truett

2009 — 2025

Grey Anderson/Truett Fall, 2009 – January 13, 2025

Grey Anderson/Truett (GreyGrey), matriarch of the City of Cayce House of Cats (CHOC), passed away from complications of what is believed to be a case of herpesvirus. She was 15 years old. GreyGrey leaves behind her brothers, Carmine and Ernie III – as well as the remaining household of CHOC – cared for by Stoney and Valerie.

GreyGrey started her life at the State Museum Feral Colony in 2009 – together with her brothers, Ernie III and Carmine. When her brother, Carmine, caught a cold, all three kittens were rescued, recovered from illness, and welcomed into the world of CHOC in February 2010.

Grey Grey was not a kitty to argue with anyone. Not at all. In fact, she was so timid around the other CHOC residents that they would take advantage of her at a moment’s notice. It got to a point where she wore a “kick me” sign that only the other cats could see. She was ultimately removed from the CHOC “main body” and moved to Stoney’s office to live out her remaining 13 years in peace and harmony (for the most part).

She put up with her “roomies”, Macaroon (Mac Mac) and PopTart (Tart), but generally enjoyed the quiet of her life with Stoney – who provided all the love, attention, (and food) anyone could want. She also loved to sit in her “Catio” in the warm weather. In the cold, you could find her in the Catio taking up all the space of the heated pad placed just for her – or you could find her curled up on an office chair holding down Stoney’s clothes.

GreyGrey – we are lucky beyond words to have had you in our lives for 15 years. Papa Stoney and Mama Valerie love you so very much and will miss watching you munch down your meals after getting your dose of those nasty eye drops.

Enjoy your journey across the Bridge. We will see you soon, sweet girl…
