Gracie Coleman

Gracie Belle Coleman decided to make her exit on January 20, 2025. She was adopted from Columbia Animal Services where she came into the shelter as a severe neglect case, "straight up out of an ASPCA commercial" as they put it. CAS nursed her back to health, and in July 2018 our paths crossed. She was at the end of the row, and when I approached her kennel to ask if she wanted scratchies, she tried to squeeze through the gate to get them, and she got them every single day of the rest of her life.She loved snuggling with mom under blankies, french fries, tummy rubs, treats, cans of yummies (wet dog food), guarding her boy during the day, wrestling with her siblings, eating mom's bedroom shoes, and most of all, being with her bubba Tiger, who was her constant companion.

Left to grieve her absence are her Mom Rachel, her boy Geoffrey, her puppy brothers Tiger and Ollie, sister Lilly, and cat siblings Ladybug and Garfield. She was preceded in death by her sister Bunny, cat siblings Sookie and Zelda, and her BFF- our neighbor's dog Roxy. They spent many an hour playing with each other, and even when Rox stopped coming to the fence last spring, Gracie would still go check to see if she was coming.Gracie Baby was the sweetest soul who ever drew a breath, and we are grateful for the time she was with us. Her life is a testament to the incredible love and joy that rescued animals bring into our lives. She found her forever home and gave us seven years of unconditional love. In her memory, we encourage others to open their hearts to shelter pets, offering them the second chance they so deserve. We love you sweet girl, always.
